Wedding Garter

Thought to bring luck or fortune, bridal garters are said to be one of the oldest wedding traditions still around. It was once believed that a piece of a bride's dress would bring good fortune. In order to keep guests from snatching bits of her frock the bride would throw her bridal garter into the crowd and let them fight for a piece of that.
